Obituary for Virgina (Morgan) Cook

Virginia Cook, 84 of Oakhurst died Thursday, Dec. 15th at the Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. Mrs. Cook was born in Long Branch and was raised in Eatontown and Oceanport, before settling in Oakhurst in 1958. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Oakhurst where she served on the Altar Guild and several other groups in the church. She was an avid reader, loved to garden, listen to music and enjoyed birds in her yard. Her greatest pleasure was being a stay at home mom, cooking family dinners and spending time with her children. She will be remembered as the best mom Richard and Susan could have asked for. Mrs. Cook was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles F. Cook, in 2006 and her brother Richard Morgan. Surviving is her son, Richard L. Cook, West Allenhurst and her daughter Susan R. Cook and her partner Julie Rumschlag, Toms River; and her sister, Marion Hurley, Shrewsbury. Visitation on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2:00 pm until her funeral service at 4:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. She will be entombed in a private ceremony at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Cook may be made to First United Methodist Church, 103 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, NJ 07755.
